Ingredients
- 4 beef cube steaks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 2 cups milk (for gravy)
- 1/4 cup flour (for gravy)
- Salt and pepper to taste (for gravy)
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
- Dip each steak into the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and back into the flour to coat well.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the steaks until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- For the gravy, in the same skillet, whisk together 1/4 cup flour and 2 cups milk, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom. Cook until thickened, then season with salt and pepper.
- Serve the fried steaks topped with the creamy gravy.
