Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add warm water and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and then poke a hole through the center to form a bagel shape.
- Let the shaped bagels rest for another 10 minutes.
