Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup butter, softened (for brushing)
- Cinnamon honey butter (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture, and mix well.
- Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, then divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush the warm rolls with softened butter and serve with cinnamon honey butter.

Handy Tips
- Make sure your milk is warm but not hot; too hot can kill the yeast.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder to the dough.
- These rolls freeze well; just wrap them tightly and store for up to a month.
Ingredient Swaps
- Milk: You can substitute almond milk or oat milk for a dairy-free option.
- Butter: Use coconut oil for a dairy-free alternative.
- Flour: Whole wheat flour can be used for a healthier option, but the texture may differ.
